Our Story — Proskuneo

When nations worship together on earth as in heaven the atmosphere shifts.

In 2001, Proskuneo Ministries was founded with the vision to bring nations together in worship. (Proskuneo is the Greek word for worship, meaning to bow down or kiss towards.)

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…”

Revelation 7:9 gives us a clear picture of people from every tribe, language and nation gathered around the throne of Jesus. And yet we find that here on earth, churches are often segregated by race, age, language, denomination and style. We believe that Jesus desires to be the Unifier of His Church and that He is worthy of diverse, united praise.

Josh Davis receives God’s call to “bring nations together” and founded Proskuneo

501(c)(3) Non-profit status and Articles of Incorporation established with IRS

United 7 congregations of different ethnicities for the first time

Established the Proskuneo Worship Institute (PWI) intensive training program

Founded the International Multicultural Worship Leaders Network

Established Proskuneo School of the Arts in Clarkston, GA to offer year-round training in the most diverse square mile in the US: Clarkston, GA

The book “Worship Together: In Your Church as in Heaven” by Josh Davis and Nikki Lerner was published with Abingdon Press

Proskuneo Instituto de Adoración happened for the first time in the Dominican Republic

Proskuneo Worship Institute started at a Bible College in Thailand

Launched Proskuneo “Actualize” program to resource and coach multicultural worship leaders

Developed Proskuneo Arts + Worldview program in Clarkston

Established new diverse leadership structure

Began to offer 3rd Culture Retreats for TCK/CCKs
