I've never been able to connect to a group of people so quickly and on such a genuine level than the students and mentors here. One of my favorite nights has got to be when the mentors themselves lead us in worship. Nothing else seems to matter but worshipping our awesome God in that moment. I also enjoy just chillin with everyone playing basketball (or trying to in my case) or going geocaching on an early afternoon. Learning and growing in the area of worship with these amazing group of people is DEFINITELY something to consider. You will not regret it and will be changed forever! Yesterday we mixed some Portugues with English as 4 Brazilians from our partnership congregation were with us leading music. Hearing others sing in their heart language just enlarges our praise...ok, I admit I attempt the alternate languages , myself... I went in and opened up and shared some of the hurtfull things that people spoke over me growing up. Nikki shared some things Trevor and Sarah D. also shred some things. God used that time to show me that I wasn't alone and that other believers shared some of the same hurt. It was in that moment that I was able to face my fear of singing in front of people. For that moment in that room I am thankful for pwi and the staff that God used to help me grow.
